So as I've been debating PC vs. Mac for a bit now...and I was leaning towards a PC (30 minutes ago I was sitting at around 85/15)... then I heard that Apple announced the iPhone SDK. It comes within a developer's package that includes an iPhone simulator that is Mac-specific.
The real gem in all this though, is that apparently, Apple themselves will be hosting and selling all these legit third-party applications. For free. And sharing revenues at a 70/30 (you/apple) split.
Which potentially turns a $2000 expenditure into a $2000 investment....
Cause it's been 30 minutes and I'm already bursting with [seemingly] viable ideas.
Hmmm...

I just bought a macbook.....still getting used to it. I sometimes miss PC but apple products are idiot proof eventually. Only a small learning curve.
The only thing /w mac is that apple makes it so that all their products work so well together that you end up buying into EVERYTHING!
good luck
Which makes it so expensive...
I can spend like $6-800 and get a sweet PC and not have to pay for practically any software.
Yet on the other hand, I'll be paying $2000+ for a loaded up mac.
There are other potential concerns too...like at work we're looking at moving to a window-exclusive platform for our web and internal stuff...so I may Need a dedicated windows PC at home if I want to work from home (which I don't... but probably should lol)
